Bates has a long tradition of welcoming poets and fiction writers to learn from their work. In the course of the fall, InsideOut Literary Arts Mission will accept submissions from younger poets, rappers, leaders and activists ages 14-19 from across Wayne County who are concerned with representing Detroit as the Detroit Youth Poet Laureate.
The space hosts poetry readings, ebook launches, public radio interviews, and workshops, with built-in magnificence and adaptability serving Literary Arts’ mission of bringing literature to everyone. All occasions will happen at Artists Inn Detroit, a brand new group-driven arts mission led by award-successful artist and activist, Natasha T. Miller.
