On the fiftieth anniversary of his demise, 30th November 2017, a celebration of his work will take place in the Swift Theatre, Arts Building, Trinity Faculty, at 7 p.m. Immediately, we’re a complete, nationally acknowledged center for writers, publishers, readers, and lovers of the literary arts.
The College of English is delighted to announce a diverse programme of literary events this time period, reflecting the diversity of literary actions among colleagues and college students. College students will analyse literary texts from up to date and historic durations, interpret informational and graphic texts, and create oral, written, and media texts in a variety of varieties. The program culminated with a Grand Slam occasion open to the public on Sunday, Could 7th at 3pm in the lovely Community Arts Auditorium on Wayne State University’s campus.
The space hosts poetry readings, ebook launches, public radio interviews, and workshops, with constructed-in magnificence and flexibility serving Literary Arts’ mission of bringing literature to everybody. All events will happen at Artists Inn Detroit, a new community-pushed arts mission led by award-successful artist and activist, Natasha T. Miller. We’re also happy to support and promote literary events, festivals and particular occasions elsewhere in School, in Dublin, and throughout the country, a lot of which feature contributions from members of the School. During the fall, InsideOut Literary Arts Undertaking will settle for submissions from younger poets, rappers, leaders and activists ages 14-19 from across Wayne County who are curious about representing Detroit as the Detroit Youth Poet Laureate.
